  6. Re: Headless LF Enlargers Rise UP!.....................LED

My lab several years ago gave away several DeVere enlarger chassis. The bench Devere 4x5 had a closed loop head as did did the standing 8x10 chassis that I took. Another 4x5 and the 8x10 chassis...

Or the heads died due to 1970's electronics. The chasis typically outlast the heads!

SK Grimes can make you a custom lens board
  9. Re: If one is good 2 must be better. Durst 184 rebuilds

The scary part is the 1960-1970ís electronics why I use a DeVere 5108. Much simpler to fix when it breaks!!

There are a number of enlarger alignment videos on U-tube. I believe they are for DeVere enlargers, but the proceedure may be similar for Durst. Good luck. L

    Re: De Vere Enlarger

It might help if you post some photos of the enlarger so see if someone has a manual for it. Like IC said, it's like killing a fly with a shot gun. It will get the job done, but there may be easier...

There are usually two reasons why negatives may be thin: you under exposed or you under developed. The second includes using ancient developers and other stupidities. L

  19. Re: Looking for my first 8x10 field camera, what are my best options in 2021?

+1 I think I'm up to 6 or 7, 4x5, 5x7 8x10 & 11x14. But they won't buy an american classic used for hundreds of thousands of images in the 50's-70's. They'd rather buy the cheapest camera made...
  20. Re: Deardorff 8x10 lens board mounting problem.

Sandpaper. Whomever built the board did not follow Deardorff specs. If you bought it new, return it and tell them to send you one that fits. If not new, sandpaper and a file until it fits. L

Have a 6” Golden Dagor mounted by Steve Grimes before he left the planet. Sent him the loose cells and a Copal 0 and he did the rest. A really fine mounting job.

Re: Which field camera for usage with 90mm lens

Any camera that you can place the front and rear frames 90mm or less apart should work. I believe that would include many (most) 4x5 field cameras.
