  2. Re: Cross Processing out dated Transparency and Negative in E6 and C41

    I am about to do a complete series of Women's Hats , using 8 x 10 trans in C41 and 4 x 5 colour neg in E6.

I am pretty confident with the trans to C41 method as its just basically at normal...

Re: Jeff Wall's New Show in Washington, DC

One of the reasons Jeff Wall made backlit cCba's was due to the current timeline belief that Cibas were non fading in dark storage, unlike dye coupler prints. I have to believe this to be true as I...

Re: Jeff Wall's New Show in Washington, DC

Jeff not only takes , days but even months to set up a scene and get to the point of making an exposure. He is a major photographic influence for many, many people.

Re: Jeff Wall's New Show in Washington, DC

I think Drew you should look into Jeff Wall a bit more before you are so critical. His approach to photography is very unique and refreshing, spoiler alert he takes his time.
  8. Re: Potentially useful LEDs for darkroom/alt applications

I have gone a bit further down the wormhole due to MR who are the experts in Nuarcs telling me they would not send in a technician to my lab because my 32 1Ks unit was built in 1994 and they are not...
  9. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

I love the quality of that combination the negatives are really nice.
  10. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

Well I worked at a bunch of film labs and we were totally hooked into Kodak , Fuji quality control so everything we did was at temp.
  11. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

That is my thoughts as well.
  12. Re: Marketing Platinum Portraits in 11x14 , Is this posible and then How?

Well once you see my prices things may change... It is much harder to work from In camera negatives than the way I and many people do today which is by calibrated digital inkjet negs. I will have...
  13. Re: Marketing Platinum Portraits in 11x14 , Is this posible and then How?

Google George Pimentel as well , more candid flash but very compelling person, he and I have known each other for years as I too know Tony, its a small world up here.
  14. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

Thanks so much Koraks - I will indeed see if I can get the water bath constant around one of those large Stainless steel tanks, I can do 8 - 4 x5 at a time, I think the secondary steps are not so...

  16. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

Yes I got a PM here and the suggestion of these sous heaters came up and I am indeed going to give that a go.
  17. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

    Hi Joshua

You have a good handle on this.. I actually did use the water bath method , I was using water from the mains so it was a Real PIA . This idea of yours will probably work and I need to...

  25. Re: Lowest temperature for C-41 / E-6 cross-processing?

  29. Re: More detail from internegative or digital negative ?

Ok - I am making digital negs today, I open the computer load the film and 10 mins, I have the negative. I buy the roll at $100 for 17inch x 100 ft. so the 16 x 20 I just made in 10 min cost me under...
  30. Re: More detail from internegative or digital negative ?

Without going into the pros and cons, the main ingredient will be the operator doing the work, both methods have good ways and bad ways getting to the final print. I doubt there really is a good...
  31. Re: What is the fancy name for C-41 and RA4 processed prints.

I think I like this name dye coupler print because it helps me understand how the process works a bit and reminds me that these types of prints are dye based.
