  1. Re: Highest quality JPEG conversion for web?

Thanks, everyone! Lots of sound strategies. I’m concerned about any inadequate downsizing that might be automated by my website host for images over 800kb or so. Otherwise, I’d much rather have more...
  2. Re: Highest quality film holders out there?

The Toyo film holders, as many are saying, are IMO the best by far. I never regretted replacing my array of Lisco and Fidelity for a collection of new Toyo's. Worth the money.
  3. Highest quality JPEG conversion for web?

    Hi everyone,

I'm sure this has been covered numerous times on this forum, but with the constant updates to Photoshop and numerous conflicting strategies, I'm at a loss for what is the practice...

    Re: Scanning 8x10s

I understand that quality is subjective, but there is a reason that I shoot 8x10, and that is to achieve a level of precision unmatched by other options. Because that is my goal, I don't want to...

    Scanning 8x10s

    Hello everyone!

I use 8x10 and tend to print at great scale from a digital file, which leads me to drum scan my negs at 1.5 GB or so. Needless to say, this is tremendously costly, and so I tend...

Hello everyone… attached is an image that I am in the midst of working on after having drum scanned from an 8x10 neg. As you can probably see at a glance, there are lines that remain from the...

Re: Save me from my fear of light leaks!

That's a good idea to use paper. Much cheaper and faster way to do it, eh? Wouldn't want to wast 8x10 film on those tests.

The only problem is that film is more sensitive to light than paper. Do...

Thanks everyone. I wound up buying this: http://www.polarbearcoolers.com/prod...ers/PB120.html

    Great. Thanks guys.

    Sinar auto shutter?

There seem to be many Sinar auto shutter lenses available at reasonable rates. I was looking for a Sironar N or S at 360 mm, but obviously found that they are a) hard to come by, and b) expensive.

Re: Is 8x10 worth the trouble???

Out of curiosity, is it normal for there to be a haze over the initial scan? I have used imacons before and a similar phenomenon occurred, but this one seems to be more pronounced.
