    Sekonic have come back with answers - an optical portion is broken and the wire for switching measurement mode (Incident / Reflective) was also broken.

    Cost is only ¥9500 about £65 so in the end...

    I removed and changed the lumisphere to a viewfinder. This changes it from an incident into a Reflective light meter. The EV numbers were coming out at 3,4 or 5 at most

    Thank you, yes very strange. I have spoken with Sekonic and they will check and repair, mind you in Japan repair will be half of a cost of a new one.

    Thank you all for your replies which all very helpful. The film I use is only Ilford Delta Pro 100 and I believe the mix ratio is either 1+9 or 1+14 with the time adjustment accordingly.
