Re: Flat Field Focus on LF Lenses?

You realize that you will also need a ruler to perfectly position your eye from the print for it to be that exact.

I focus at infinity because the prints look better to me that way. Otherwise you...

  3. Re: Best way to ensure appropriate DoF in interior shots?

    Exactly that!

I focus the near point and glance a the knob marker and note the "time."
Then I focus at the far point and check the knob and note the "time."
It is pretty easy to determine how...
  4. Re: Best way to ensure appropriate DoF in interior shots?

My 8x10 camera focuses with a knob. I have an indicator on the knob so I know, for example, "12 Hours" (half turn) = F32, etc.

Re: durst power supply EST 1000N

Forums change with time, so I thought maybe it might work this time. For example APUG did not allow direct image upload, but after becoming PhotoTrio, you can upload images.

Re: Electronic circuit in D5 lens turret

At first I thought it might be the shutter for the Omegalight, but I did find a picture and it is certainly different. Again, making it appear you have a unique device.

Re: How to handle "Free on Loan" threads, etc.

Certainly there are valuable and expensive items I'd not loan. However, the current state of selling on ebay shifts the benefit ratio far from any benefit to me for selling anything less than $500....

I got a couple of email requests for that recently. People's email and user names almost never match, so I wasn't sure if I sent it to you already. PM me with you email and I'll send it.

  11. Re: How do you see and appreciate a large format Portrait?

I don't follow portraiture, I think the 20x24 Polaroid stuff is all I can recall off hand seeing in person. On the internet, everything looks to be digitally manipulated so I usually think 'what is...

  14. Re: How to make a sports viewfinder or wire viewfinder?

  15. Re: Added H&D curves to my Film Log webapp, though I'd share

The reasearch by Loyd and Jones showed the best correlation between print quality and speed was with a speed point at a tangent of the toe at one-third the gamma (0.3G) line.

  16. Re: Added H&D curves to my Film Log webapp, though I'd share

I have been using the first 10 or 11 steps after 0.1 as my personal "Contrast Index" in all my computations ( a linear regression of those points, exactly). I started using a spreadsheet to do this...

  19. Re: X-Rite's Patented Sensitometer Electroluminescent Light Panel

  22. X-Rite's Patented Sensitometer Electroluminescent Light Panel

Flat panel provides very even illumination in a compact device. Very different from the other sensitometers produced.

Re: Suggestions For Wide Angle Lens on 8x10

210mm is nice as 190 might be too close to your 150mm and 250mm might be too close to your 300mm.
