Re: 4x5 to 8x10 increasing back?

The bellows would vignette the larger image area, for example. A 5x7 reducing back on an 8x10 camera would be quite nice, but not vice versa!

    Re: Quick Question Tray Processing

I wait a few minutes with the film in the fixer to be sure. Why take a chance? After that I turn on the lights.

Re: Basic B&W Developing setup for 4x5

You can use the Jobo tanks and reels for inversion processing, it just takes a lot of chemistry. But thatís how I process 4x5 often, with Pyrocat HD.

  15. Re: Developing with Jobo 2509n tanks on CPE2+ vs. SP-445 tanks

I use the 2509 reels in the 2500 tank for manual inversion. Works great.
  16. Re: Density Readings from FP4 negatives in Pyrocat-HD using a spotmeter

My normal for FP4 at 100 in Pyrocat 1:1:100 is 10-11minutes, in tanks and trays, for silver printing.

Re: Bergger Pancro 400 in Pyrocat-HD?

I have no experience with the Bergger film, but lots with Pyrocat. I would start with even less time, like 12 (or even 10) minutes, then 14, 16 and maybe 18. I think one minute differences are too...

Re: Bellows extension rule of thumb

I use the formula and make a list of corrections for each focal length. Then round to the nearest third of a stop when taking the picture. When in doubt, on B&W negative film, give a little bit...

  25. Re: Need help identifying what went wrong here:

I use that system, like you, by hand. I use it exactly the same way as an inversion tank for roll film, rather than trying to roll it. I agree with others that developing four sheets at a time is a...

Thanks Igor. Your use of the type 55 is perfect! What I have is older (2003), and I’ll probably try to develop it in trays.

  32. Re: I need help to make a decision. Tomorrow, I will be buying a 4x5 camera, help me

Re: PMK Pyro N-1, N-2 dev times

Of course you should do your own testing. You can do speed testing and establish your N and N minuses with roll film to save money. That said, those times look close. But don’t start with critical...
  36. Re: Delivery of film (8x10 and 4x5) and archival sleeves covered in Hypo-Clear powder

    Re: D-23

If you have used D-76 before, I would start with those times. I used to use D-76 1:3, and when Iíve used D-23, also 1:3, the times were nearly the same.

    Re: 8x10 processing options

Do you have a bath tub or shower in your bathroom? Trays are so simple, fifteen minutes, and then wash in the light. I’d did this in different bathrooms for years.
