    Re: Deadly hike----Haz-Mat the cause?

Seems likely to be toxic algae bloom - probably filled up their water bottle and passed it around. Real shame. Going to make me more careful even when filtering. Indirectly climate change claimed...
  3. Re: Which of my 5 LF lenses are worth keeping or worth upgrading?

  4. Re: Which of my 5 LF lenses are worth keeping or worth upgrading?

Not sure that an 8x10 is going to give you much of a boost in resolution over 4x5. The problem with 8x10 is film plane flatness. Not to forget the extra cost of film, lenses, camera, and the weight...

    Re: 300mm lens 4x5" landscape

Agree completely. I own both. The Fuji A 300 is harder to find, heavier, and has a weird filter ring size (55 or 58mm I can't remember). I would go with the Nikkor M 300mm f9. The Fujinon C 300 f8.5...
  6. Re: 210 for travel and landscape: Heliar or Schneider?

Nikkor M 200mm f8 or Fujinon A 180 f9 - both lightweight, lots of coverage, but slow. If you are going to be in gloomy conditions then an f5.6 makes sense, perhaps the Fujinon 210mm f5.6 - with the...

    Re: Chamonix C45F-2 vs. C45H-1

Probably too late this thread but I would get neither and go for the Chamonix N2 instead. https://www.chamonixviewcamera.com/cameras/45n2

The direct impact is terrible or course, but the indirect impact of the smoke on the health of vulnerable communities is probably just as great. Fires are now creating a material reduction in the...

  11. Fujinon C 450mm F/12 .5 (or another) to replace Fujinon T 400mm F/8 for Lightweight

If we are straying onto the subject of weight loss, I recently discovered the joy of the leveling base for RRS tripods.

Ive used a Chamonix N1 with extensiůn and the Fuji 450C. It is doable but not recommended simply because of stability/wind. It is hard to get a sharp image. I echo a previous comment about keeping...
