Re: testing for film speed (again)

I'd remove the lens, take an incident reading in its place. Then place back the lens and set aperture and shutter speed according to the reading.

    Re: Ground glass replacement

Have you tried finding an original Sinar? I bought a new old stock Sinar GG on the bay for my F2 in 2020. At €79 +€6 shipping it wasn't cheap. But it likely wasn't cheaper to replace when the camera...

Re: How many color-based folks are still out there

I started LF only two years ago. Still learning, and I'm having a hard time composing with the GG image on its head. But in addition to b/w I'm using colour negative and chromes in 4x5, as I do in...
  4. Re: Nova 12 x 16 print processor reviews (and dimensions?)

50Hz is strictly required by this controller, according to the manual. Or at least the website at the time when I bought my replacement heater set.

    Possibly some obscure microcontroller, which...
  5. Re: Brexit trade (custom) treaty - and Global Shipping Program (for EU trades)

Others have mostly answered this, but to clarify: Yes, previously a UK business charged VAT when I bought from them. Now they do not charge VAT and my local customs office collects it instead. So no...
  6. Re: Brexit trade (custom) treaty - and Global Shipping Program (for EU trades)

Ron, the UK is not in the common market anymore. The transition is over. There are no duties in theory, but that applies to british made goods only. A japanese lens from the UK will not be at zero...

    Re: Berlebach tripods - advice?

Yes, that would help to get the camera mounted on most heads. But it might still be less ridgid than desired, depending on the size and stablity of the used tripod head, and the stiffness of the...

    Re: Berlebach tripods - advice?

Almost a year ago I joined this Forum, when I finally decided to go for a large format camera. When I finally received a Sinar F2 in late January it became obvious that it isn't easy to get this...

Thanks for the welcome, and sorry that I'm a 'bit' late for my reply! :D

Recently I went to the forest with the F2. An eight km circuit. It wasn't a big problem. The backpack is about 16.5kg. The...

I hope you did notice that this black edition is a time limited offer. It's not there to stay. Then again, if turned out to be a huge success and of higher quality, then buyers might press them into...
