Really nice, Alessandro. I particularly like the out of focus rendering of the trees in the back ground.

    Re: weight of Rittreck View

I have been using a Galen Rowell Photoflex bag (the largest) for years with a Busch Pressman 4x5 outfit. It has a shoulder strap and waist strap. The flap folds away from the body when opened. You...

Re: Do you get sentimental about your lenses?

My most appreciated/loved lens is a Rodenstock 135/5.6 Sironar-N. I have used it on several 4x5 cameras that I own or have owned. When using the 4x5 format I never "leave home without it." ...

Re: My New Tripod: Gitzo vs Leica Surveyor vs Ries

The aluminum 3 series Gitzo tripods are remarkably stable when used only with a plate or bowl level. Just have to get one that is tall enough without a center column.

To update from my previous post:
I normally carry only three lenses in my LF case but can add others if needed. I am using a Toyo Original Field with either a 4x5 back or a 5x7 back.

    For 4x5: ...

Re: How Many LF Formats Do You Use/Own?

Just noticed this post. I think I have seen photos on the web of the factory back in the past. A search may find something. My back is wooden back from an old 5x7 Burke & James view camera.

I have other 4x5 cameras but have settled on using just this one for most of my LF photography. I have also adapted a B&J 5x7 back and a 6x9 back from a Horseman 980 to mine.

I use my Toyo 4 3/4x6 1/2 original field with 6x9, 4x5 and 5x7 backs mostly but also a Busch Pressman 4x5 when a rangefinder will be useful.

    Re: Which diameter filter

All of my filters are 67mm and I use adapters for some of my lenses as you suggest.

Therefore I would use 82mm filters if possible - provided adapters are available.

    Re: Rodenstock Sironar 150mm

The 150mm Symmar convertible that I own is much more symmetrical in design than the later models. That may account for the better bokeh. The Compur shutter has many more blades for a round iris.

Own a bunch of 4x5 and 6x9 cameras but only use 6x9, 4x5, 5x7 backs on an original Toyo Field camera, plus a Busch Pressman 4x5 and a homemade 5x7 P&S.

Re: Selling All 8x10 Gear & It Feels Good!

Two thirds of my photography is to preserve scenes for those after me. I feel the 4x5 is the most practical in that regard. I have a Kodak Century with film and holders but have never used it.

Re: An Idiot looking for press on filter

Buy a slip on adapter size 1 1/2", for series VI filters. It can be adjusted for the 37mm lens.
Use series VI filters or glue a 40.5 filter ring inside and use 40.5 filters.

    I have done that.
