  1. Re: Removing film from Jobo Expert Drum 3005

I load and remove the film from a drum full of water. And for the record, JOBO instructions say "When loading the Drum with films of sizes 8 1/2 x12", 8x10" or 5x7", push the material to the bottom...

Re: 4x10 Point 'n Shoot Camera Build

Should you be so lucky as to find a Berthiot Perigraphe Serie VIa 120mm f/14 it will cover 300mm open to 360mm stopped down and there is nothing smaller and lighter.

Lock the shutter open and use a Galli shutter. It will be plenty accurate, especially for the converted tests.

Re: 4x10 Point 'n Shoot Camera Build

As far as I have seen Wollensak never said the 110 would cover more than 5x7 or an 8.6 inch circle. Where did you find your figure? 10.6 would be the circle for 6.5x8.5, the rating for the 135mm wide...

As Steven said "This site doesn't allow evaluation, but I hope I misread the Ebay listing!". I looked but I couldn't find the pictures of the other 1 or 2 cameras that must have come with it.

Definitely not a Kodak 2D. Hardware is all wrong.
  7. Re: Help confirming identity of a no name Wollensak lens

Did you actually determine the maximum aperture by measuring through the front? And 203 mm is 8 inches not 9. Maybe it is an older 8 inch (5x7) pre name Rapid Rectilinear and an f/8 that is long...

  12. Re: Is my film ruined by airport security hand check?

I don't know why the hand check thing keeps coming up. You have a much greater chance (not to mention the hassle!) of something bad happening with a hand inspection than just leaving it in your carry...

Re: 4x5 to 8x10 increasing back?

    Re: Bergger PMK Roto Additive

Gordon Hutchings recommended adding 5ml/l of a 10% solution of EDTA for rotary PMK. This is what I have always used and found no need to split the developer or change the time.

Don't try to unscrew the lens from the board as it may have the positioning screw on the back of the lens in a slot on the board. Unscrew the retaining ring from the back of the board.

  20. Re: Whos using PMK for rotary / jobo processing?

I just use Gordon's recommendation of the equivalent of 5 ml/l of a 10% EDTA solution added to the minimum amount of the developer required (300 ml per 8x10 equivalent) when mixed. Never had problems.
  21. Using step down filter adapter on Durst turret

I wanted to mount a 210 Rodagon on my Durst 183 (5x7 head on 8x10 chassis) with the 3-lens turret. I read about using a camera filter step down adapter (77mm to whatever) and by golly it worked. A 77...

  23. Re: HELP! A friend just gave me his old 4x5 pinhole. No idea what the Aperture is!

  27. Re: Kodak 10 Inch f/6.3 Commercial Ektar with Acme No. 4 shutter

JW, exactly what I said back in #17, including putting a gasket between the board and the flange. The flange won't go anywhere but you don't want your lens slipping off a couple of threads.
  28. Re: Kodak 10 Inch f/6.3 Commercial Ektar with Acme No. 4 shutter

If you take the flange off the board and mount it on the lens reversed and then hold the lens to the board how many clearance problems does that help? That flange was designed to be on the front of...
