  3. Re: Midtone Machines - Automatic Film Processing Machine

Sorry for the fuzziness, I only use Hewes steel reels. the two teeth for the sprocket catch are a godsend for loading film ;)
  4. Re: Midtone Machines - Automatic Film Processing Machine

agree with Daniel re: Jobo reels. If you made the drum and core to accept Jobo steel reels (for 15xx tanks), that could possibly entice Jobo users looking for a smaller, automated unit...like me...

    Re: A D-76 observation---any guesses?

hmmm, a buddy mixed some Dektol the other day and saw some black flecks in the mixing pail as well. First time ever. Dektol also wasn't clear. but tests showed it processed film and paper fine.

    Re: Intredpid cameras

Had a Rosewood DXII and loved using it. Light, folds with 150 lens attached. Have a v1.0 Intrepid 8x10, as well because the price and lightweight. Not using it very much. Using Canham 5x7 and Zone VI...

    Re: Processing Troubles

glad you seem to have found the problem with the leaks. wonder of spring clamps can be used to tighten up the mating, until you come to a more long term solution (ideally a replacement back)

create a text document and make it full size on your screen. I do this if I'm processing on the road. or create a new PS image with white background.

B&H still shows warm tone and some cool tone, as special order. if it was EOL'ed, they wouldn't show special order would they ?

  20. Re: Pre-soak for manual 4x5 B&W development in a Jobo tank?

I used to presoak in 15xx and Experts and tbh, never noticed any difference. So for me, I stopped presoaks for Jobo, and hand inversion.
  21. Re: Scanner, enlarger, or contact printer? Which one and why???

upside of scanning is that if LF is not your thing there are other uses for the scanner. darkroom equipment on the other hand...

I say this as someone who scans when necessary and it's enough, but...
  22. Re: Scanner, enlarger, or contact printer? Which one and why???

as suggested, look at finding a Crown Graphic (or it's siblings). it won't have many movements (front titl requires flipping the front standard base around) but it's a great camera to work with as...
  23. Re: Scanner, enlarger, or contact printer? Which one and why???

So, I also find 4x5 contacts a bit too small for my liking. 5x7 however is a really, really nice size.

4x5 will be easier to enlarge as those enlargers are all over the place and easy to find....

Re: Intellifaucet D250 - sticking valves

Wonder if it's related to hardness of water ? Also, do you have CLR where u are ? It's for clearing Calcium, Lime and Rust (CLR) and possibly a stronger alternative to acetic acid.
  25. Re: I'm trying Fiber papers for the first time.

Filtration that may look great on MGFB may not work with another brand. You're not going to be able to translate print data from one paper to another imo. Same with developing times. With Formulary...
  26. Re: First Forey Into 8x10 Format/ Intrepid 8x10 Camera

iirc, focusing with the film plane changes the size of the subject. lens plane focusing less so, if at all. If I wanted to change the composition slightly, I would adjust it by racking the film plane...

    Re: Intrepid 8x10 experiences?
