  1. Re: How many film holders do you bring for a day out?

Polaroid marketed repackaged Fujichrome as Polaroid Professional Chrome 100D and 64T in ready loads, IIRC.

  4. Re: How many film holders do you bring for a day out?

Maybe we should recommend that newcomers memorize "The Negative" by AA, too....so they can apply the Zone System calibrations to their X-Ray film.
Ya know, make it hard for them so they get...
  5. Re: How many film holders do you bring for a day out?

I typically do day hikes, and usually have 6-8 4x5 holders loaded with B/W film, as well as 3-4 holders loaded with color...just in case I see a scene that screams out to be shot in color.

Re: Photo Era Favorite & Why

    Wow, good question...
It would be a toss-up between the 20's-30's-40's Hurrell-type Hollywood studio portraits, and the Brett Weston/Richard Garrod/Oliver Gagliani/ Merg Ross aesthetic.
    They...

    Re: Ansco/Agfa 5x7 questions

The typical 5X7 Ansco lens board is ~5.2" square.
No problem to make (or have made) an adapter board that will use 4x4" boards.
I don't have a 90mm lens to check infinity focus, but my feeling is...

    Re: Velostigmat for 8x10

I would posit that back in the day, more 8x10 portrait photographers used Veritos, Vitaxes, etc. in those focal lengths than Velo's.
    Less demand, fewer made.
    Also...those who have them aren't...
  14. Re: Wollensak Velostigmat Series II lens question

The soft focus adjustment separates the two front elements, causing an increase in spherical aberration.
Unscrewing the front group won't achieve that.
There are a lot of threads on this topic...
  15. Re: Wollensak Velostigmat Series II lens question

The adjustable soft focus feature was an option.

    Re: Question: What is this?

Are those Rodenstock Sironars? (plain Sironar, not -N)?
There was a problem with separation with early ones, due to adhesive.
Not much can be done about it...try 'em out, see what you get.
