For learning about lightening, I read and found Light-Science & Magic : An Introduction to Photographic Lighting by Paul Fugua, et al. 2nd ed. to be excellent. Focal Press; ISBN: 0240802756. Amazon...
Just an additional info....

Norman Mcgrath used to use the Arca Bino Reflex years ago, but he seems to use just the viewing hood, according to my memory from an article in View Camera Magazine. There was a reason stated, but...
Malcolm, don't forget to stop by Ceneter for Creative Photography (CCP) at University of Arizona. The building is along the Speedway Blvd.
I have a Wide Angle screen made by Bill Maxwell. The screen is optimised for 75mm focal length, as I recall. I use Schneider 72XL and it works well with the screen with no noticeable light falloff....
Glenn, the apparent differences from the older version and the current (supposedly II) seem to be a new stamp button on the upper right corner and a new padded case, as you can see the picture at ...
No. I should consider why I take pictures. I would not do so if I'm not moved by nature. Guess what happens if you allow another permit then another. Then I would not be moved or take another...
Glenn, Fuji sells quickload negs in two types, NS and NC in Japan. The speeds are both 160. Both are Daylight. NS is intended for portrait. A recommended exposure time is 1/8 sec or faster. NC is ...
This page contains some historical aspect of Nikkor SW 65mm f4.0. I just found this websi te while I was searching for some information about wide angle lenses for interi or photography.
Perhaps you mean one of these two photographers: Yasutaka Tanji and Shinzou Maeda. I could not find the homepage of the latter. Currently from Australia....
Sal, I recall if the pivot of tilt is the same as the rear nodal point of the lens, then the composition is not affected from my past reading of Basic Photographic Materials and Processes (now new ...
One more crucial disadvantage is that there is no direct conversion bellows from 6x9 to 5x7 or 8x10. Of course you can have an extra 4x5 standard in between 6x9 front and 5x7 or 8x10 rear...
Although I do not have a 8x10 model, I have F-line 4x5 so it won't make any difference in this topic. I have the Arca reducing board and have used a copal 3 shutter mounted on 110x110 board. I read...
Bob, contact to Arca customer service arca-swiss@swissonline.ch about your question and request electronic catalog for your convenience. Depending on what kind of photography you do and how much...
Let us know the further use of the pack after you get off from the plane. Is the pack also intended for photo backpacking or simply as a protective purpose? Also which Lightware case are you...
The Zeiss lens you're talking about sometimes shows up on Ebay and is auctioned about $1600 up. In one of the ads I have seen, the seller wrote the lens weighs 4lb! Also from the picture, the lens...
Here is another picture I happened to encounter. It says T* multi-coated and specially ordered by this company. Image circle 150mm at f3.5 and 170mm at f22, angle of view is 60 degrees and the lens...
According to Nikon nikkor lenses catalog, page 12, dated Feb 20th 2000, Nikon seems to make Linhof type boards for copal 0, 1, 3. MSRP is 3000 each or about $30.
By the way, I finally figured...
Two books by Micheal Harris: Professional Architectural Photography and Professional Interior Photography, both 2nd editions.
Bob, thanks for your comment. As stated in the document, the dof calculator shows min. f-numbers at M=0 or infinity focus. However, the calculator essentially contains all the information at...
no no Fred, I have never meant this document to be an intellectual puzzle solving. Or I don't even want to do that unless I get something worth to the effort and time I put in. I basically made a...
Check out the previous post. I received spec and price sheets from Phillips a while ago, but there is a long waiting list and you'll have to wait at least one year.
Sorry if you see "Contribute an answer" button in my document. It's not supposed to be there.
Sean suggested me to compile a document for my recent answers to the Arca Brainb ox question. So I'm working on this document although the section for Example using Arca Swiss F-li ne Classic camera...
Avoid buying a generic square protective wrap. I tried OP tech sqaure wrap, but it's too thin and square wraps are not fast because you have to unwrap and wrap everytime you use a lens. I'm one of...
Ok Sean, I just made a strip for Arca F-line tension knob. When you print, follow the instruction to rescale and print based on your format size. I'm sure there is a way to look the strip nicer on...
I have both the Rodenstock wheel and Lihof table. For some reason, I don't like both because it takes more time than Sinar DOF calculator knob. I like to be close to the camera and keep my eyes on...
Sean, I think you misunderstood what I posted. The whole thing that you go through is only once and you don't do that every time you take pictures.... If you've ever used a Sinar, you know how quick...

The procedure 5 should read
Mark f-numbers N's on the left side on the [tension] tape, based on N = delta/2/c for a given delta. Sorry if there's any confusion arised
</ul> Did it fix the indentation? Anyway don't make your decision solely based on the lack of DOF calculator on the camera. Arca F-line is something more than that.
Steve, I'm one of those people who need brain. But here is worth a try.
You could try to make a Sinar equivalent DOF scale on your rear function carrier focusing knob and tension control knob....
Erich, check out the B$H web site for Cokin X-series filter system. It's summarized well.
