I also agreee totally. It is totally true that the Epson is way less capable than the Howtek, the Creos and the Scanmate. Simply see resolving power ratings in the 2019 side by side... no doubt !!!
...
This is identical, all scans made by Pali, two Creos, Drum(bottom-right) and an Epson(top-left).
Where is the difference ?
Have you a criterion to say what's identical or you even lack this?...
Yeaah !!!!!
Hello Pali, any opinion on next ?

Dear Bryan,

False, the lenses in the Epson optical system resolve 17,000 effective pixels in the scan row in a single pass, point another flatbed scanner able of that.

This depends on what you want... It is a very good shot anyway...
But in this case using swing instead tilt would have provided the barn's bottom in focus:

Important, follow the safety rules in the service manual, the cable going to the pedal is not a hazard, but the cables supporting the table and the head have powerful springs that can be a hazard,...
Yes... but your former Epson also was in par. Go to page 10 in the Thread you linked, post 92 by Pali and Post 93 by me with slight edition in the pixel-peeping crop.

Luis, please try that interflon lubrication... first it removes the degradated pre-existing lubricant, I should have video showing how I move the 138 table up/down with a single finger, but anyway...
First, no doubt you will get good scans with the i900, specially if you edit the image proficiently, as required with the Epson.
Reportedly the i900 has no SNR by 3.0D, compare SNR with the Epson....
I'm not understanding it well what you say but I think it would be the counter, you have to press the pedal to insert the sleve in the column. Normal operation is that you press the foot pedal and it...
Yes, you use the provided area guide and you place the negative on the glass bed with emulsion side down to minimize Newton Rings effects, you may also wet mount directly on bed. When not using a...

Of course, if scanning 35mm film perhaps we would have another situation, but this is a LF forum. The amazing thing is that we are obtaining smashing evidence that for LF the Epson is as good as a...

Edit well both crops (that are 5mm high on the negative) and you'll get mostly the same at x40 (first image) and the same at x20 (second image):
