On my wartime "Standard" 5x7, that little button on your 3rd pic is to disengage the sliding front standard, which fits into several notches on the rails that are cut to match with different lenses...

Re: Howtek 8000 Drum vs. Epson V850 flatbed scanners

Yes, that was precisely what I was pointing out. The statement earlier was "identical tonality" etc.
The "crop" was from the un-enlarged sample so not much to make out in resolution differences.

Re: Howtek 8000 Drum vs. Epson V850 flatbed scanners

I don't know, maybe you need to calibrate your monitor. Certainly "if you are not a total dummy you will match the tonalities with a few clicks" is an interesting statement accompanied by such an...

    Re: Intrepid 8x10 experiences?

That sucks! It seems to me the lion's share of issues are coming from the 8x10 cameras.

Another point in favor of the 3D-printed parts of the new 4x5 model. I imagine here in the humid south...

Centering the camera/lens on the face and dropping the rear should be the same as having the camera lower and using front rise on the lens side bringing it up to face height, no?

And yet it is seen in the comparisons you posted which is what I was talking about. Go ahead and redo them again if you want, it won't make a difference. More to the point, the ugly faux-resolution...

Yes I did, and Pere, if you can't see clearly how the two images have differing tonality and contrast in different parts of the image in your "comparison" then you are blind. This is an obvious...

Re: Howtek 8000 Drum vs. Epson V850 flatbed scanners

The drum scan looks much better, both in contrast at the local level and resolution.

And yet the tiny web version in Post #10 has obvious differences at a tiny web size. But hey, let's march...

No it does not. This seems to be a common question but not sure why, have others had that problem? I can’t see how it’d be possible with any 90mm lens.

Any 90mm lens for 4x5 from Nikon, Fuji,...

Yes it's dead due to the complaining about the camera's production process and (reasonable) delays back when it was Kickstarted, causing burnout and distaste of the community by the creators.

Re: Moon lit scene with Txp 320

That rule is for taking photos of the bright disk of the moon, not the landscape under moonlight. That exposure will result in a blank negative shooting a landscape illuminated by the moon.

Re: Moon lit scene with Txp 320

T-Max 100 or Delta 100 will be "faster" than 400-speed film at a certain point, which you probably hit. Or if you've got some Acros, that's the "gold standard."
TXP would be about the worst film to...
