10x8 too! You can even do them together in the same tray. ;)
On a related note, at the museum I worked at back in the '90s, the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, dimensions were (and still are) always recorded in the format Height x...
Hi Jim,
I see that you are in Tucson. The Center for Creative Photography at the U of A has one of these systems. I saw it when visiting back in early 2014, so it may be an early version. (I...

Beautiful print Tri. I met John Roseborough must have been about 10-15 years ago in Tucson. Really nice guy. Traded prints with him. Interesting use of household cleaning supplies, though I don't...
One more thought: Someone mentioned a final wash of 30 minutes to an hour in running water. I think this is excessive, 15-20 minutes should be sufficient. For those of us who live in arid or...
Regarding HCl, for any inexperienced Pt/Pd printers considering using it, I quote from Platinum and Palladium Printing by Dick Arentz:
Hydrochloric (muriatic) acid (HCl) is mentioned in historic...
Not sure but I think Tri is being ironic. ;) But then I don't have a dishwasher so who knows!?
Sandy makes a good point. I think regular replenishment keeps the developer sufficiently acidic, but it is good practice to check the pH periodically, especially if you use buffered papers.

Kodak Hypo Clearing Agent (powder) consists of
sodium sulfite (75-80%)
sodium metabisulfite (15-20%)
sodium citrate (1-5%)
EDTA tetrasodium (1-5%)
It provides the necessary components...
That yellow stain is residual sensitizer (ferric oxalate) that has not been removed by the clearing bath(s). No amount of washing will remove it. What are you using to clear your prints and what...
I dunno Mark, you've been around there a long time. Aren't you on mailing lists (snail and/or email) for CCP and UAMA? Both have FB pages too. Maybe the Tucson Weekly?
Sorry, I didn't mean to...
The only reason I knew about it was from a Facebook posting by Becky Senf. I don't see it on the UAMA or CCP websites either. Nor was I aware of the event that prompted this thread. My guess is that...
Just curious if any of you folks griping about lack of access at CCP went to the public gallery talk with John Schaefer and Becky Senf about the founding of CCP yesterday across the street at the UA...
When I had a P2, I first ran it on a G4 MDD with Tiger. I don't remember if the SCSI card was standard or if I added it. Later upgraded to a G5 with Leopard and ran the P2 via Ratoc adapter. Both...
Hi John,
If I read your description correctly, the area where you are getting higher edge density is the edge closest to the bottom of the drum i.e. farthest from the lid. Is it possible that you...
Bob,
Use "Unified View". By default it filters out classifieds, lounge, and a couple other things.
Cheers,
Keith
Looked up the Red River Sheer. It's still in the catalog online but in only one very small size. Bummer. Also says not recommended for pigment inks, though I tested it once a long time ago and didn't...
That's funny! Sounds a lot like this place much of the time.
Maybe Red River Sheer, if they still make it.

I've been using Cone inks for years, ConeColors in a 3800 and Piezography K7 Carbon in a 7600 (recently deceased), and I plan to switch another 3800 to a Piezography2 setup in the near future. The...
I agree that most of what is in the Nurre-Caxton catalog is at least somewhat ornate and not to my liking either, but I think the page(s) that I referred to are about as simple as it gets - just a...
Are you familiar with Nurre-Caxton? Look at pages 4-5 of the downloadable catalog. Is that the sort of thing you are looking for?
When I lived in Tucson, I had a friend who was a very talented...
Inside length is 21 inches.
Heading to AZ tomorrow for the PhotoTapas event at Art Intersection. I'm doing a brief presentation and 2 Pt/Pd demonstration sessions. Dick Arentz and Scott B. Davis will also be there. Should be...
I've had what looks to be the same issue with my old 7x17. It's definitely not a processing issue. I'm not positive, but I don't think this is caused by a problem with the bellows. I my case, I'm...
ETERNAL PLATINUM – CONTEMPORARY PLATINUM/PALLADIUM PRINTS
In celebration of our 3rd anniversary, we present, what is considered the most noble and celebrated of all metal-based photography, the...
Interesting discussion, especially the comments from Paul, Rick, and Jay. I just want to note that Rick has twice referred to Mr. Newman as Arnold, though I'm sure he meant to say Barnett. ;)

Hi Steve,
Way back in the late '90s I posed the same question on the old alt-process email list. Mike Ware replied that green crystals indicated the presence of chromium. This made sense at the...
Use 'em as funky frames for contact prints. :D
I'm pretty sure that the notch code for Kodak IR sheet film is/was the single "U" (universal) notch.
Attached are a couple of references.

Georgl,
Manuals should be on your software disc. If not email or PM me with your email and I'll be happy to send you what I have. There is quite a lot of documentation. The installation and...
Jack,
I'm guessing you don't know Dick. Don't take it quite so literally. I'm happy to see that Dick's wry and dry sense of humor is undiminished. ;)
Cheers,
Keith (former student of and...
Evan,
No, I'm running oXYgen 2.6.3 on a G4 (last version of the MDD) with Leopard (10.5.8). The scanner is connected via FireWire using a 2nd Wave SCSI-FireWire converter which is similar to the...
I bought an EverSmart Pro II from Ryan Newton (aka Omnicow) a few months ago and just want to say that Ryan is top-notch. I was initially running it on an old G4 MDD with Panther and oXYgen 2.3.5. My...
No argument there, Mike. :D I like warm images too, warm prints in particular, which is why I do most of my wet printing with the platinum/palladium process using all palladium most of the time. And...
What Greg said, but remember that in order to colorize your grayscale scans you will have to change to RGB mode.
Also, if your grayscale images look unpleasantly cool, your display may be in need...
Hi Don,
I looked into this a few years ago but never followed through - thanks for the reminder.
If you want a local source, look up "Rubber Stamps" in the phone book.
Googling "heavy-duty...
