    Re: Meopta Belar 4,5/210mm

I once had a large Meopta enlarger for 5x7", and it came with a Belar 210mm. Magnitarus was the name of the enlarger, or something like that. Never user the lens in a camera, so I cannot speak about...
  2. Re: Question for any who have read Way Beyond Monochrome

In my copy, 2nd edition, the only bullets I see are in a table in page 116. One bullet (dot) represents 1/3 stop increment while two bullets represent 2/3 stop increment between zones.

  3. Re: Are there planar-type lenses longer than 135mm for large format?

In a pinch you could try a Russian I-37 300mm f/4.5. AFAIK those are made following the Tessar formula and are easy to get and inexpensive.

Missing spring in Ilex n.5 shutter

    Hello,

I have a Ilex n.5 shutter that is missing a spring in the slow speed train. The shutter is the Ilex variant made for Kodak and it came with a Ektar 12" lens.
    The slow speed train was...

Bill, I wouldn't go as far as saying that this lens belonged to the royal family. More probably it belonged to a UK government agency at some time, and they marked their ware to avoid it being stolen...

  13. Re: Someone selling a "Red Dot" Prototype Dagor for $32,000.00

    carel,
the Hermagis n.16944 shown in Corrado's book is a Petzval, so yours, which is very similar, is almost certainly a Petzval too.
Anyway the Hermagis, at least the ones which I had in my hands,...

  17. Re: Hermagis Extra Rapid Portrait #7 lens...or is it?

I have only two Hermagis from the period. One of them, n.17631 only has the usual engraving with the name on one side, nothing on the other side. No number.
