  1. Re: Are there any 3-way heads that can take an arca style QR clamp?

I have Gitzo GS5160CDT Arca Swiss adapter plate. It works with Gitzo newer QR system with safety lock (model number ending with a C instead of B). For around $45 it's quite expensive for such a small...

    Re: New 5x7 Shen Hao

Why do they want to make such outdated camera for which film is scarce and expensive? A light 4x5 would make much more sense.
  4. Re: New article by Leigh Perry: Collaborative scanner comparison

Crosfield gives the best shadow detail IMO.

    WA bellows for AS Discovery

Not much movement with standard belleows. I have the synthetic bag bellows, with it movement is a lot easier, lens coverage becomes the limiting factor.

I have used Paterson tank to do B&W and E6 processing (one sheet) with great success, non emulsion side against the wall, no problem.

  8. How to achieve that kind of glowing effect?

Photoshop CS practice: 35mm provia, scanned with Polaroid 45 Ultra

  9. How to achieve that kind of glowing effect?

You are the man! That does have a 'defogging' effect and makes color pop. Too bad photoshop doesn't allow 16bit in layer manipulation.
  10. How to achieve that kind of glowing effect?

Well IMHO none of the photographers you just mentioned can match him. Looks like every pixel of his image is glowing.
  11. How to achieve that kind of glowing effect?

What do you mean of 'copies'? That's not very nice.
  12. How to achieve that kind of glowing effect?

I came across Ron Flickinger's website and was very impressed by his work. I like that bright vibrant color which I was never able to produce with my CCD scanner. I guess drum scan is the key? His...

    Mark Image Camera (?)

I don't understand. Why did those winners like to pay nearly the price of a 'full' version SH for a stripdown 1D?
  14. Does your spotmeter agree with your SLR in spot mode?

This is followup to my original post. I found the difference of the exposure value between the pentax spotmeter and my camera meter depends on the light source. Under fluorescent light, pentax...

I notice there is no bubble level.
  18. Does your spotmeter agree with your SLR in spot mode?

Is it possible that one uses 18% grey as reference while the other uses 13%? Is there any other easy way to check the accuracy of a used meter?
  19. Does your spotmeter agree with your SLR in spot mode?

I got a used pentax digital spotmeter and found its reading one stop over that from canon 1v in spot mode(85/1.8 lens). Target is evenly lighted wall. Changing the lens to 50mm, 200mm doesn't affect...
  20. Calumet 6x12 roll film holder owners, would you recommand buying it?

In fact I'm a frequent trader at that place too. I know horseman linhof holders are better but cheap wood field doesn't have graflok back and cost a lot to add that feature.
  21. Calumet 6x12 roll film holder owners, would you recommand buying it?

Opinions of this holder seem to be very few. Search on internet only turned out negative ones. Is it really that bad so hardly anybody using it? Their C2N model doesn't improve a bit? I ask because I...
  22. Which wooden field camera is most 75mm friendly?
