    Re: Atlas BackPacks for 4x5

The problem is that these top-notch technical backpacks are not front panel openers. If you are willing to handle your kit from a top loader you are all set. The current crop of back/oyster openers...

    Re: Atlas BackPacks for 4x5

Good info, Sal. I gave my Kelty Cache hauler to my son in law and he swears by it for hauling quartered elk out of the field. External frame packs are outstanding for heavy loads.

    Re: Atlas BackPacks for 4x5

If you are physically fit and covering only short distances, any backpack that holds and protects your gear will do.

If you are covering longer distances and/or navigating challenging terrain you...

  7. Re: Cascade Film Holder Case velcro-attached shoulder straps - Have they worked for y

    Hi John:

You have stumbled onto the issue I am debating. Should I add the expense of adding permanently affixed 'D' rings or rely on an accessory that is fully an accessory. I am planning to...

  10. Re: Cascade Film Holder Case velcro-attached shoulder straps - Have they worked for y

Thenks, Jerry. The force exerted on the straps are a sheering force rather than a parting force. My only concern was that the system would be weakened with successive attachment and detachment. ...
  11. Cascade Film Holder Case velcro-attached shoulder straps - Have they worked for you?

I am contemplating some limited production of the Cascade Film Holder Cases. In years past, I sold detachable shoulder straps as an accessory that attached to the case via the velcro accessory strip...
  12. Re: current options for backpacks that will carry up to 5x7

You are correct. The frame pack is the freight hauler. It is not compact, elegant, easily stowed nor airline carry-on compatible. It is like comparing a SUV to a Mack Truck. Internal frame packs...
  13. Re: current options for backpacks that will carry up to 5x7

When Drew uses the term "real backpacks" he is referring to true "technical backpacks." These backpacks have frame sheets (the load bearing spine of the pack) that have been engineered,...

  16. Linhof Master Technika 2000 owners - please help with question on geared rise/fall

When I lower the front standard on my MT2K using the lever and the standard reaches its lowest point, the lever disengages the geared rack and the gear attached to the lever simply free-spins. Is...
  17. Re: DIY Hook and Loop Board/Insert for Backpack?

An easy way to make these is to sew the material inside out to fit the board. Reverse and slide the coroplast inside the envelope. You will need to sew several lines of stiching on either side of...
  18. Re: DIY Hook and Loop Board/Insert for Backpack?
