Hi Michael,
I have managed to get reasonable cancellation for Ektar and Portra 400 films however whatever I do, I cannot get a neutral cancellation for Fuji 400H.
I have also managed to get...
Thanks Drew, appreciated.
Ctein recommendation was a bit funny because he suggests 90C60M to cancel orange mask, using a Beseler. It is similar to DeVere I use in terms of filter settings and...
Hi all,
So I am trying to create masks for my C41 negatives. All the sources and posts I am reading suggesting that I should calibrate my enlarger head to 5000K, which is 95C 60Y in my case.

Anybody has access to the plugin? For Mac?
Hi all,
Me again. So I have realised my 504 MKV has a slight issue. The filters, especially the yellow one does not activate the diachronic slide fast enough. Sometimes it sticks half way through....
Yes I am planning to use Paterson tanks to develop 35/120 films and also 4x5 ones. While it rotates, it also does some sort of up and down movement as well. But good point on travelling drum, I'll...
Hi all,
I thought I should have couple of spare light bulbs for my DeVere 504 MK5. I know it has 2x 250W 24V ELC bulbs for God, it is hard to find the exact speced model and finding a halogen bulb...
Hi all,
I have a Simmard drum rotator, the electrical motor and was thinking if I can use it as film processor. What I mean by that is, I have Paterson tanks, and with the full amount of...
Thank you for your reply. Please see attached

When I rotate the blue knob, which should tighten the tilt, the red bit which is the back end rotated as well. Normally that red bit should...
Hi all,
It seems my Intrepid 4x5 MKIV has an issue with the tilting knobs, you cant tighten them fully. I can see the back ends keep rotating when you rotate the front end to tighten. Might be a...
Hi all,
I have acquired a 2nd hand Nova FB processor which came with 8x10 and 16x20 FB Print holders. Then I went ahead and have purchased a separate Nova Agitation Clip, as I am printing RC as...
Thank you very much all, I knew I can get the best answers in here. Now I’ve learned I can get pure white if I want and cyan is neutral. I know I’ve bought an enlarger way above my knowledge but I...
Ok, so I’ve been reading this document few times already. When you say leave the cyan alone, where should I leave it, at 0 or at 150, or it doesn’t matter.
How about if I want to get pure light...
Hi all,
So, finally I’ve upgraded myself from a toilet darkroom to an actual basement darkroom and first I’ve ordered a proper enlarger as using Intrepid enlarger kit is very fiddly.
As I’m...
Thanks Max, maybe I was too quick to post this. But other users might find it useful too :)
Great concept but a failed application.
I have received mine with great excitement but realized very quickly, lens plane and film plane are not parallel, with a laser alignment tool. The problem...
That’s great to know, XTOL and Microphen has it. I wonder why Rodinal manual says it has high emulsion speed yield when we know high dilation causes speed loss.
Also a similar question could be asked, why developer A is better than developer B for push processing.
So the info I could collect is;
Fine, extra fine grain developers causes a bit of speed...
Thank you very much all, and apologies for incorrect use of film speed. But thankfully some of you have understood me :)
I understand speed is measured for little density change in shadow areas and...
This is what I was looking for. Hence diluted XTOL create larger grains but better emulsion speed as well compare to non diluted XTOL. Thank you.
Hi all,
I have had the source which explains this scientifically but for some reason, I cannot find it anymore.
What is the scientific or chemical reason why some developers causes effective film...
Yes, front standard is axial, back standard is basal tilt.
Yes that’s my intention, landscapes. I understand with back tilt, you can loom the foreground which sometimes I’d like to do while I keep the deepest DOF possible. I also understand Scheimpflug...
You do these, after you set the back tilt right?
So based on my extensive research and reading on the matter on how to focus with field camera, I have a fair understanding on how to focus with front axis tilt alone or back base tilt alone ie...
I’m just a beginner on LF with my 4x5 camera and I’d like to learn what is the best way to use dark cloth, ie do you keep it attached to your camera while you slide the film holder (which is pretty...
So you aligned them when you bought and never check their alignment again? Is this what you are saying?
Actually I’ve printed enough, enlarging a 35mm to 10x12 enough times that I know what alignment is, why it is important and more importantly how to do it.
What I think is, just because it is small...
Well hopefully this one will stay aligned as well. I mean as long there is hope, I still don’t see why it is such a big issue. Plus as it is small and light, being out of alignment is harder plus if...
Alignment is problem for any enlarger and any enlarger can be out of alignment, I personally don’t think the alignment issue is specific for this enlarger.
Why is it not good? I don’t see a problem as long as you can align it and keep it stable during print.
I got them done with PLA, results seems alright.
Currently I have an interpid 4x5 with enlarger kit which I use mainly to print 35mm and 6x8 films with 2 different lenses 50mm App Rodagon and 105...
Hi all,
As I want to print a 45mm recessed lens board, now I’m also thinking to print all of my lens boards with a 3D printer.
What is the best material to print? ABS, PETG, etc ?
Hi everyone,
So I have received the enlarger kit with their 4x5 MKIV camera the other day. I have bought this kit solely to print 35mm unto 6x9 films, I don't shoot 4x5 yet so I don't print those as...
ok mystery solved, it is 210, it was a typo on ebay
And the lens looks like 210 but they insist it is 150 so I am just to make sure and asked the to send me a photo.
Schneider hasn't produced this lens for other purposes than film enlarging right?
Hi all,
I am about to buy this lens with blue adaptor ring but bit puzzled. It has rather large front element with 72mm filter thread. Normally all the other versions Ive seen even with 50mm thread...
