    Re: Focusing loup

Years ago I bought a 9x or 12x loupe from Edmund Optical. It came with a clear base but could be opaque (black) on request. It cost less than the ones from Schneider (8x) but is sharp and I still use...

Re: Need box/tent to load 4x5 film

Hotel/Motel bathrooms are fine because they don’t have much dust and usually don’t have much to block off….But…look at the exhaust fan really carefully in the dark. Been there, done that.
  5. Re: Treat stiff bellows with Pledge (or other)?

BTW, Custom Bellows in the UK made the bellows for Kodak folders.
  6. Re: Treat stiff bellows with Pledge (or other)?

Note that most all old Kodak pocket folder bellows are made of paper, but look like other materials... Most treatments will destroy them, but check camera collecting sites for info... There are new...
  7. Re: 135mm Schneider Componon Enlarger Lens Mount Size?

I think that 32.5 with a .5 mm thread is the same thread as a Copal or Compur shutter retaining ring so if you have one of those shutters you could see if the ring fits your lens.
  8. Re: Keeping borders square when trimming photos

Make sure your print is flat before trimming. Put it in the press for 30 seconds or so, take it out and put it back in for another 30 seconds. This will make sure that the print is flat and doesn’t...
  9. Re: Wide angle lens on folded-up Master Technika

If you add push on lens cap thickness that sounds really close even with a special recessed board.

    Searching in this forum

Hi, how do I search with connected terms like “Kodak TMY” ? without the search disconnecting the two parts…”Kodak, TMY” ?
Which gives me all sorts of unwanted an irrelevant stuff?
  13. Re: Linhof Technika V - Ground Glass is Dim.

A proper screwdriver should be the same width as the screw head and the same thickness as the slot width. If it is too wedge shaped, it will push up out of the slot and and make the screw useless....

    Re: Cleaning Blix container?

Some brown glass bottles cost way less than a box of film and will last a lot longer if you don’t drop them. A very good investment.

Re: 300mm Rodagon with Slight Edge Fungus

Might be more dangerous for the lens to put it in a vise than to use it as is. If the pressure is enough to hold the lens without slipping, it also is probably making the lens somewhat oval and the...
  16. Re: How to mount a Goerz Artar 10 3/4 inch in a shutter?

I had a 10 3/4” red dot Artar mounted in a #1 Copal shutter for many years and wish that I had kept it. The rear lens element was just big enough that I had to remove the rear element to take it off...
  17. Re: Nikkor-SW 75mm f / 4.5 on Chamonix 45F2

I have had a 75mm Nikkor SW f4.5 for a number of years and found it to be a very useful and extremely sharp lens. The image circle is 200 at f16 and I’m not sure if it improves stopping down more or...

Re: Seeking advice on 120mm lenses

I have not used the Schneider 120 mm SA, but I used to own an Apo Symmar 120mm / 5.6 and thought that it was one of the sharpest lenses that I owned. I only sold it because I carried it around and...
  19. Re: Getting Back To PMK - Want To Try Pre-Mixed But Is It Good?

    Re: Which diameter filter

Hi Mario, I own this lens as well and I use it on 5x7 mostly and think that it is excellent although it is very heavy. That being said, if you are using this lens on 4x5 and don’t need the image...

    Re: Which diameter filter

If 82 mm is a wide angle lens and you need all of the lens coverage, then get 82 mm thin filters. If you don’t need all of the image circle then rethink your needs.

    Linhof film holder repair.

Hi folks. Anybody know if the springs on the end flaps for old style Linhof film holders can be replaced? I haven’t had a chance to take one apart as yet, I’m just looking for information. Thanks.
  24. Re: Wich spacer and retaining ring for Schneider 240 Symmar S f 5,6

Copal 3S is just a bit smaller than a Copal 3. The lens board shouldn’t be a problem, but anything with threads will not work. You can look up the size differences somewhere like the SK Grimes site...

Re: Darkroom Sink Slope & Drain?

    Re: Lens F/Stop Scale Question

If a #0 Copal, then a 135mm f5.6 fits in it. If a convertible then the second scale would not start with f8 but something like f12.

I think that you will find that the distance between the stops will be different on a scale that was made for a different focal length lens.

  38. Re: Filter size of Carl Zeiss Jena Apo-Tessar 60cm F9?
