    Re: Sharing drum scan quality

    Thanks for the replies guys.
First, let me say I'm a practical guy. For me it's all about the pictures and not so much about pushing a scanner to it's maximum physical ability.
    The scan has about...

    Sharing drum scan quality

Since I know that some members in this forum are interested in high quality scans I though I'd share the results from recent works I had scanned by Castor Scan in Italy.
To say the scans blew me...
  5. Re: Current lab recommendation in Tokyo for 8x10 ?

    Thanks Oren,
I was at their Kanda store today. They only develop in one location (not there) and have a 3 day turnover which is too long for me.
  6. Re: Current lab recommendation in Tokyo for 8x10 ?

    Thanks John.
    I don't speak japanese.. :-(

    Anyone else has any ideas?
  7. Current lab recommendation in Tokyo for 8x10 ?

Can anyone share their recent/current experience for lab developing C-41 in Tokyo ?

  8. Re: Anyone switched sides of current Arca-Swiss Orbix DIY?

Yes, I will contact Martin at Arca and I'm sure they can change that. I asked here cause I thought maybe someone has done it by themselves before.
    Thanks.
(BTW...yes, for ME absolutely the best...
  9. Re: Anyone switched sides of current Arca-Swiss Orbix DIY?

Yes, that's the one. The knob he's showing at minute 3:00 I would like to have on the other side..
  10. Re: Anyone switched sides of current Arca-Swiss Orbix DIY?

I'm guessing the one Richard had was the older design.
  11. Anyone switched sides of current Arca-Swiss Orbix DIY?

    Hi,
On my 8x10" Arca F-Metric with micro metric Orbix I would like to switch the tilt control from the left to the right side of the camera.
I heard it is very easy with the older, larger frames...
  12. Re: Anyone carry an 8x10" Arca in ThinkTank Airport Takeoff bag?

I actually live in Berlin. Thanks for the idea, I ordered a similar cart that's made here in Germany.99460
  13. Re: Anyone carry an 8x10" Arca in ThinkTank Airport Takeoff bag?

    Thanks Daniel.
The idea of larger wheel I do like. I think I'll give MagnaCart a try and see what it's like.

BTW, what gave you the impression I was living in NY ? :-)
  14. Re: Anyone carry an 8x10" Arca in ThinkTank Airport Takeoff bag?

Thanks Daniel, but it kind of misses the point since I can't use this bag as a backpack when needed, and the cart is pretty bulky.
  15. Anyone carry an 8x10" Arca in ThinkTank Airport Takeoff bag?

I'm using the Airport Accelerator bag which is fantastic, but I noticed I could use wheels when walking for 2 hours in the city...

    Bob,
I actually find my Canham GG protector works very well with my Arca 8x10 (f-metric).
I leave the lens on the camera while collapsed in the bag and I like how the GG and fresnel are protected...

    8x10 on Gitzo GT2531

Anybody ever used any 8x10" on a Gitzo 2531 or a comparable tripod?
It holds up to 12 kg but I'm still wondering whether it might just be too "thin"?
