  1. Re: Lenswork Magazine - a portfolio of my work

    Joe,

I enjoy your work. It's definitely an honor to share the podium with you.

I'm very happy to take one of the lower platforms. The fact I'm even invited to stand here is beyond my...
  2. Re: Lenswork Magazine - a portfolio of my work

I now begin to understand how a dog must feel at the sight of a street lined with fire hydrants. The anticipation is nearly killing me! :D
  3. Lenswork Magazine - a portfolio of my work

A collection of my steam and early diesel electric locomotive images will be published in LensWork Extended #78 Sept-Oct 2008.

Brooks Jensen will be interviewing me. With luck, I will have a...

    Re: Aperture blades and look...

    Marc,

Take a look at "modern" (ie: post 1950) Compur shutters. Many of the shutters I have contain more aperture blades than their Copal counterparts.

Another "modern" shutter that I like is...

    Re: Open Source

I suspect that someone (perhaps even I, Your Humble Servant) will come out with an "Eye Match" method for "calibrating" Linux driven monitors to printers. I remember when Minor White's book on the...
  6. Re: Are you still happy with your Hp B9180?

Mine is connected through USB for the entire time I've owned the printer. I've never had any disconnects of any kind.

I'm with you, though, it'd be worth checking for a loose connection.
  7. Re: Are you still happy with your Hp B9180?

I've had mine for a number of months now. Used for both print making and digital-internegs. It's brilliant on both accounts. More than half of my Camerawork Gallery show in palladium was printed...
  8. Re: Christopher Perez - Camerawork Gallery Artists Reception

Thanks to all and your kind comments. Of course it's thrilling to be able to participate in this way! :)

For those who can make it, I look forward to seeing you.
  9. Re: Christopher Perez - Camerawork Gallery Artists Reception

    Richard,

Many thanks for the kind comments.

I did, in fact, sell out a show that overlapped this one. I had a show of images from a railroad yard. They were 10x12inch images matted to 16x20...
  10. Re: Christopher Perez - Camerawork Gallery Artists Reception

Wow! Great!!! It'll be wonderful to see you. Bring the family too if you'd like. :)
  11. Christopher Perez - Camerawork Gallery Artists Reception

I will be hosting a reception at Camerawork Gallery for a show of my work that is currently hanging in that space. Here are the details:

  15. Re: The New HP B9180 13x19 printer WOW WOW

    Cobalt, well said.

Tools are just, well, tools. As I said earlier, the only thing that matters is the final image.

People might ask themselves, how did they get to the final image? It's a...

    Re: Linhof selected lens?

Linhof did indeed select the best lenses. I don't know which facilities the selection processes took place, but they were implemented.

    Re: 150 SSXL for 4x5?

The 150SSXL is a HUGE optic. If you don't mind the weight, it's a good conversation starter.

Before you head down that route, try shooting the SSXL wide open and compare it against your SPO (I...

Re: What lenses are in you 5x7 kit?

    It depends on the situation.

If I can use only one lens - 210 Schneider Xenar f/6.1, it fits in the folded camera

If I'm in the studio and have limited space - 180 Nikkor W f/5.6

    If I have...
