    Koadak Aero No. 1 filter

I have been looking into green or light yellow/green filters to deal with foliage (in black and white.) I came across a light yellowish-green filter, a Kodak Aero No. 1 filter, size series VI. I have...

Re: I just "killed" an old habit today!!

Peter. I find that amazing. On my first newspaper job (in the 1970s) I worked with a great photographer who did the exact same thing. He said he could not help it. One day he showed up at my desk...

    Facebook Marketplace Question

I got frustrated selling on the 'New' eBay. I just did not want to wait up to five days for my payout. So...I thought I would try FB Marketplace. I once sold a camera on FB a few years ago and it...

    Re: Zone VI Camera Question

I know it's not a Wisner, but I am curious if the bellows between the two are interchangable...Thanks!
  6. Re: Large Format lens parts..

Thank you guys...I will continue my hunt!
  7. Sources for parts for very old lenses

Where is a good source for parts for large format lenses? I am not seeking screws or springs and stuff... Just a faceplate for a 105 Ektar. There must be a treasure trove of stuff tucked away...
  8. Re: snubby screwdriver made for tripod plate screws?

If you Google 'keychain screwdriver' all kinds of things come up...some good, some not so good.
  9. Re: Field Optics Research FPH-200 Pan Head Question

Ah, Perfect. Thank you Bob. Your photo shows me exactly how large the head is. I would be using it on my Manfrotto 55CXPRO3 tripod. It sounds like the same sort of mounting as your tripod. It looks...
  10. Re: Field Optics Research FPH-200 Pan Head Question

Thank you VERY much Bob. This is the information I am seeking and you have given me big hopes. May I ask what weight camera you are intending to use with it? I am about to purchase the head and just...
  11. Re: Field Optics Research FPH-200 Pan Head Question

Because it's far easier to sit here in my chair and ask you experts.
  12. Field Optics Research FPH-200 Pan Head Question

Has anyone used the Field Optics Research FPH-200 Pan Head? By what I see it seems like a quality item. I just can't seem to find out just how heavy a load it takes. I have seen numbers from 6.6 lbs...
  13. Re: When was Wisner Tech Field 4x5 #941 built?

    941. That seems very familiar. I think I may have once owned that camera. Or it may be a very similar number to the one I had. It was nine-something-one. That sure sounds like it. But I bought mine...

    Re: Crud on negatives

Pieter, Did you try a soak in a Photo Flo solution? Although the dawn detergent may be close, perhaps the photo flo would have something 'extra'..

    Re: Inexpensive LOUPE for focus?

Isn't that about the same magnification of the popular Toyo loupe? I've used that for many years...But now I mostly use the longer Horseman loupe..I forget what magnification it is. I'm tempted to...
  16. Re: Kodak Supermatic aperture scale question.

Mr. Fromm, You have just saved me a tremendous amount of time. Thank you very much! I have been looking at photos of 105 mm face plates wondering how to measure. You saved the day. Thank you!!
  17. Re: Kodak Supermatic aperture scale question.

Very in interesting. Thank you Bob. That would make perfect sense, especially with the Century back which is a ground glass and a Fresnel in it's assembly. The combination would make a considerable...
  18. Re: Kodak Supermatic aperture scale question.

Steve, You are a genius. I was hoping I would receive an answer that did not require a lot of math. You have come to the rescue. If this has worked well for you with chromes I will be on easy street...
  19. Kodak Supermatic aperture scale question.

OK. I have a nice Kodak 105mm 3.7 Ektar. I use this on my 2x3 Century Graphic. For reasons I won't bore you with, the Supermatic shutter the lens is in now is from a Kodak 127mm 4.7 Ektar. I no...

    Re: Kodak Photo Guide Question...

I've never seen a Calumet scale. But the photo guides are very handy. I do not know what I did with mine. I just bought a 'new' one, which means my old one will turn up any day now.

    Thank you...

    Kodak Photo Guide Question...

Does anyone remember if there is a bellows extension factor calculator in those little Kodak Photo Guides? I had one and I have somehow lost it. I know there is a depth of field calculator that was...

Thank you Mark. Yes, I am sure it's coated as some of it appears to be slightly rubbed off..and what's there is plenty blue.

    Turner Reich Triple Conv. date..

OK, I just got my 'new' Gundlach Turner Reich Series II 5x7 Triple Convertible lens. Its 7 1/2, 12 and 15 inches. It's a real beauty. It's looks coated and in an Ilex No. 3 Acme shutter. The...
  33. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

    Problem solved..Thanks to all!!
  34. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

Thank you Dan...That's what I was thinking. The Ilex No. 3 (non-Kodak) seems to be such a common shutter that it's strange that flanges and retaining rings are difficult to locate.
  35. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

Thank you Eric, I used to do that but I would feel so much better if I just get a ring...But Thank You!
  36. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

Exactly. And the one on the Bay looks as if it has quite fine pitched threads...so I think I will pass on that. I may have to get a new one from Grimes. I am hoping against hope...
  37. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

Hi Dan, That's what I was thinking. I don't want to buy the one a the Bay unless I know if it is the Kodak or not. It would be a different ring, right..I am really getting confused now!
  38. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

Thank you David. I did find that and am watching it and will probably get it. The guy does not take returns so I have to decide if it's the correct one! There is a Kodak Ilex and the pitch on those...
  39. Re: Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

Thank you! Yes, Grimes says the ring is 1.915 inches, or 48.6mm. I am wondering it a 49mm ring would work...I just don't want to spend a lot on a new one!
  40. Ilex No. 3 Universal shutter retaining ring size..

OK, I just made an impulse buy on a Turner Reich 6.8 Series II 5x7 triple convertible lens in a No. 3 Ilex Universal shutter. It will need a retaining ring or flange. In my search it looks as if it...
