    They are or supposed to keep the bellows from sagging or entering into image area when extended and activate as the bellows are extended but the leather strap connecting the bellows to the hardware...

    They are two different companies. Both the name Raptar (Wollensak) & Paragon (Ilex) are trade names for various optical formula lenses.

    As I recall the trick is to move both standards to one side of the rail clamp so the standards can be moved as close as necessary for infinity focus or closer focus.
