Buttermilk Falls
In my younger days I would have jumped the fence to get a better view of the falls from the gorge, getting old sux.

Yes, it does in many ways. Then again...older equals wiser - right? Therefore...bolt cutters! ;)

True, but then I would still have to deal with a very steep gorge.

I forgot my Sherpa at home.
Re: What did you compose at Waters Edge?
Yes...I've thought about the sherpa which I also tend to leave at home when most needed (why do I do this?) - and also personal airbags, which would quickly inflate when I fall - actually...I think someone should get to work on this!
But it can certainly be frustrating to be at a place where, if only one had a magical balloon to carry us to that "perfect" place from which to photograph...perhaps in this case a bit lower than the falls but hovering a bit off the ground. At times like this I just try to remain open to other approaches which might actually be possible...and sometimes in doing this I actually come away with something both unexpected and wonderful!
