Very nice Bryan, great tones and composition!
That came out superb, Bryan.
Thanks John and Les!
Randy, you are right. This was my second trip. Definitely lots of opportunity here - perhaps later in the day for instance. The light here in the morning is very interesting. However I wouldn't want to go on a weekend afternoon - when I hiked out, about 11am, the parking lot was slammed full with people jockeying around trying to fit in various places and get on the trail. Probably 4-5 dozen folks passed us on the trail hiking in. We were mostly alone at 7am, with one group of folks arriving a bit after us at the falls.

I had an absolute bitch of a time getting this composition. A little further to my right would have been better but the Merced was well over my head at that point and I struggled to keep the camera and tripod propped-up on the boulders along the shoreline and out of the water. Carleton Watkins had an easier time of it but that viewpoint is no longer available: https://www.denverartmuseum.org/en/object/1991.389 Taken with the 150mm Apo Sironar.

Nice shot. Glad you didn't drown. Looks like Watkins had an easier time of it. Sometimes you just have to be lucky.
