Yes, all of them are wonderful.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Bravo for taking b&w film into the Narrows. Getting a sense of motion with the rapids is a dimension lacking from the classic Narrows image. Lovely set, but #3 is my favorite.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Alan, these are spectacular.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
4 great shots Alan! Looking forward to seeing more.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
This one I like particularly.

I would have liked to have seen this image in B&W in a vertical, much lower to the water, but using more front forward tilt and front rise to give the power of the canyon and the water, then again I don't know how much image circle coverage you have with this lens. Tones are great.
That might have been possible, but it would have been close with my 90mm lens. Last year I shot quite a few vertical images in the Narrows so this year I was really making myself shoot in landscape orientation.

Valid points. I actually would not mind a higher view point -- low down, one might lose some sense of the creek running thru the narrows. We just have enough as is, IMO. Front tilt could rage havoc on keeping the vertical walls with acceptable focus, especially as a vertical.
The water, going away from the camera, and the shutter speed has resulted in a different look than what I usually see. I'd have to see the print to see how it works.
But I have a feeling that if I was there with my 8x10, I would have made a few vertical 4x10 images!
Very productive time in the Narrows!

The two BW images are great, but the color versions are simply stunning!

Totally makes sense.

I've never been there so you would have a much better understanding for sure. Ahh 4x10... I love my half slide but I really need to get a dedicated back... I mean I already have the holders...
