Re: Large Format Landscapes
I don't know what I am doing :)

I really overestimated the depth of focus in that last shot. I guess I should focus on something a bit further away, and possibly lean the lens forward to get more focus?

Jim,
Such a beautiful image! The long line of trees and that dramatic sky!

Re: Large Format Landscapes
I agree - the trees look like an advancing army, with the smoke of battle ahead of them.

Dear David,
Fabulous image and tones... :)
How do you get so damn lucky to capture such a great image, without having my continuous enemy the wind, hanging over your shoulder... ?
Damn.

Re: Large Format Landscapes
I haven't posted an image in a while. Here's something I've been holding onto for a couple of years, haven't printed it yet but am considering adding it to my catalog. I hope it's not too small here....
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Gentlemen,
Thank you for your kind comments... :)
The wind was howling when I captured this image, because a cold front was quickly marching through the area, which caused me just a bit of grief, but I managed to stumble upon a couple of interesting images that day. Speaking about an advancing army, I must go out and assist my young son find materials to build a "Rat Trap Catapult..." this weekend for his science class that happens to be due on Monday, and where I must try to find a rat trap somewhere in the "rat free" Province of Alberta.
I have short circuits written all over this weekend, when it comes to being in the mountains with Alex.
Go figure...
