Re: Large Format Landscapes
Hello All,
My first post here in the landscape forum. Pretty basic composition as I feel my way through the trials and tribulations of LF. Shot taken in South Lake Tahoe and horizon was quite smokey resulting in a very golden sunset. Of course, i did have an 81a on the lens also.
I don't have the ability to scan 4x5 film so this is a cropped 8x10 scan of the print which is actually 10x12 on Kodak Metallic Endura.
Zone VI 4x5; 210 Sinaron w/81a on expired 160nc.

I really like this, the tones and textures are great in the soft light.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Thanks all for the thoughts. Obviously there are as many opinions as there are photographers!
This location certainly deserves a return trip, I'll say that.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
I dig it, Bryan. Not sure I'd change a thing, but the wide-angle suggestion is worth a try, imho.

I really like that, and I also have no problem with the light. It seems appropriate for the place. I'd love to see a print of it.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
What, you don't know a great image when you see one?
It is dark on the grass edges, burn it in.
Yea

Ahh, yes, I remember that lovely place very well!
A bit of work on this image and itīs great ;-)
Have you been to the ruined jetty further down?
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Thank you both. I'll probably print it later this week when I find time to work on it some more, but you'll have to come to Holland to see it. You're quite welcome to though.
No, I haven't been to the jetty. There were some diggers etc left on the path beyond the last parking and it was all dug up, I didn't know if I was even allowed passed there. So I stayed in the delta.

As good of a place to put this as any. A virtual west Texas landscape in peeling paint on the side of a small metal storage cylinder found near Fort Davis, Texas. 4x5 Arista Edu Ultra film in Rodinal 1+100.

I am not sure I would call it a landscape, but it is a very cool abstract of shapes and tones. Very well done.
