I notice a particular grainy-ness in this shot which seems uncharacteristic particularly for an 8x10 image. Also noticed the same effect in another image of tall trees (b&w) you posted some days ago. I'm wondering whether this look is intentional, perhaps the result of something unusual in post processing, applying strong sharpening some other effect. Maybe even related to the image size or resolution ? Just wondering.
I probably should just let the op answer your question , but it looks more like a combination of a dirty neg and sharpening

Gary, you're absolutely right. There was a lot more dust than I realized (that's what I get for using a flatbed scanner) and I'll be the first to admit editing in PS isn't my best skill.

I did not want to seem openly critical and thought best to inquire. I suspected your actual images are far better than the posts appear. A quick look at your website images confirmed that.

Hi folks,
My first post in the landscape bit, what an amazing series of images, some stunning work. I've only just started shooting LF and this was from my first proper trip out, a week in Scotland in September. Taken on an MPP Mk VII with Schneider Kreuznach 135mm f3.7 lens on Kodak Portra 400. I've cropped it to 16x9 as the top and bottom added nothing to the image.

And the same set up but on Fomapan 100 film.

Thanks for looking and help or critique is always welcome.
Cheers
