As I said elsewhere, I think this is really good Laura. I love the shadow leading down to the highlights and those high tones are really good, subtle and soft but glowing. It looks like a platinum print actually. Wish I'd have been there but this is a nice consolation.

Thank you, Austin! :-) It was pretty overcast that day. Amanda and I had waited three hours for the sun to peek out. I made this one right before the sun blasted out the tones.

Thank you very much for the encouragement! Since I make photographs for my own enjoyment, it is niceto hear feedback from my peers.

Re: Large Format Landscapes
You know why I like your print a lot Gabriel? It is the diagonal composition, first in the light, diminutive rock in the foreground, then repeated in the more massive rocks at center picture and finally in the distant clouds.
I can read a lot of my own emotions into the image. The progression of size from foreground to clouds as well as the repeating pattern; gives me a sense that there is some sort of pattern to nature regardless of the substance pictured - a synergy, if you will, that goes beyond a simple landscape.
Perhaps I've discovered something in your image that I've missed in my own observations and more profoundly something that I've missed in my lifetime.
That's why I like that photo a lot - it shows me something I've not thought about - and that is exciting.
Nice work.
