Steve, I have no idea of what hepened but I can think about a lot of reasons to GIVE UP shooting LF nowadays, as well I can think of another lot of reasons to KEEP shooting LF.

Steve, I'll tell you how I feel about this thread. I am as new as you can get to LF - I don't have a camera yet. In the last 18 months I have returned to film for all of my B&W images. I shoot dig%$#l for my color images. I'm refering to 35mm format. I started to think about MF for those times when I really wanted a nice negative for a special image.

Then it occured to me; why not LF? In those instances where I want that really nice negative, I usually am setting up the shot very intentionally - at least pre-planning it. If I were to shoot 120 film, I would probably shoot 4 or 5 shots and then "burn" the rest of the roll on random stuff so I could develop it. Why not shoot shoot 4 sheets of film and not waste frames? Then I can develop for the contrast and light conditions and get that big juicy negative.

Ok, now for reality. All the above is just hypothesis. I will have to try LF to see if I really like it. I think I will like it. I don't believe it is too expensive. We may run out of film, but I refuse to worry about that. I would rather have fun with it now.

Finally, in reference to this thread - I think it's great. It helps show me the potential of what I can achieve. It gives me a point of reference. I am also getting a "feel" for the personalities here at APUG. I am a (was) a regular over at RFF. They seem to not be liked by all here but I have found the people there very helpful. It seems most people here arevery kind as well.

Encouraged and grateful to all the heavyweights here, this forum is one bomb of information! 1,5 year ago I knew nothing about film let alone large format and now I'm shooting with a wonderful CHamonix - developing my own cheap film from Croatia in a CPA2 I bought for 300€ on *bay. And all thanks to this forum, just wonderful!
