Very nice image Peter!
Thanks, Jon,
A very fine image, Peter. For info, my daughter lives in Seattle, and she has said that when Rainier wears a cap, rain is on the way. Rainier is 105 miles from my town here on the Olympic Peninsula, and we can only see it on clear days--which means most days in the summer.

This is how we in Arcata forecasted the weather for years. If the pulp mills' smoke from their stacks (7 miles away across the bay) were leaning to the south, good weather ahead. The smoke was leaning to the north (or if you could smell them), then rain was on the way. But after awhile I realized that a more simple method exists..."If you can't see the stacks, then it is raining. If you can see them, then it is going to rain."

I appreciate all of the comments. Thank you! If I remember rightly, it was early July. The 'cap' didn't stay around for long. I'm glad I caught it, as otherwise the sky was blank. Here's a photo of Palouse Falls from earlier in the trip:

Nice subtle tones in the water Peter.
Here's another Rhododendron shot from Wildcat Mountain. Early yesterday morning, taken with my Chamonix 45n1 and 75mm Biogon:

That's an impressive shot--I must admit that rhody "slicks" have left me scratching my head in terms of finding a composition. FWIW, early this week I made the Russell Field/Spence Field loop up from Cades Cove, but it's still a bit early to see what kind of bloom is in store--saw a lot of mountain laurel and even flame azalea, though, between four and five thousand feet.
I agree with CreationBear: That's a fine composition, and the tonality is terrific!
