These reminded me of the tracks left by the "moving rocks" in Death Valley, except here, there were no rocks!

Nate,You have a great eye for telephoto perspective but for me this image offers perhaps a bit more PS work than I can appreciate. I guess I am dating myself. Change is good right?
Nice image.

Re: Large Format Landscapes
pdmoylan, indeed it kinda looks that way. Actually the Astia rendered the scene less dramatic than the cold Oct. weather with late afternoon sun showed. Visually the actual scene was of higher contrast so here I squeezed as much as I could out of the toe and shoulder by selectively increasing the gamma at the end points. I think I managed 6 or 7 stops without looking too hoky.

Re: Large Format Landscapes
This is a temporary scan, I scanned it with my D800. I'm getting real scans done on Monday, but I just fell in love with how this looks!
Disclaimer: I was not able to get the film completely flat, therefore it might appear somewhat crooked.

Nice image. I would have liked to see side by side. D800 and this...
Is that tape on the sides?

Thanks!
It's the glassine(?) bag. The protective case for the chrome.
I have another image which i have a D800 and a 4x5 of. The focal lenght on the D800 was 50mm, should be essentially the same as 150mm. I'll see what I can do about getting it scanned!
Re: Large Format Landscapes
I will wait to see side by side.
I sold my D800. Not for me. I WAY prefer my D7000!

I'm thinking about selling mine too. I don't like the way the files look. If I sell it I will go full analog. I don't feel the need for a digital camera, but it's a bit more convenient than my 4x5.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
I now use digital only for pictures of cameras...
Good luck selling a D800. Pretty hard to do at any price. I sent mine to KEH.
I still like Nikon, but fooled me once. It will be awhile until I play digital one upmanship again. It is a mature genre. Only Pros need better and better.
