Thank you. It is one of the beauty of that specific part of the river. The current is very slow and the color of the sediment allow for such reflection when there is zero wind. This is a great spot on foggy days.

Thanks. It's around Glacier Point so I'm sure you'll see another like it eventually!
Thank you! The flare is no doubt bad. The Kowa really has a strong one.
I was only there a few days and didn't know the light. Had I known where the sun rose and set I would have planned differently, poor planning. My photos from that morning and the previous evening lack punch and are from poor locations I think. Very broad scopes of the scene which didn't work out. The flare is definitely disturbing.
Here is one, if I remember right, that is very similar to one of yours. I wasn't happy with this one. The only LF shot on a 10+mile hike ... But I feel like posting them since I haven't shot LF in a couple weeks! Need to get out.

Taken at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. 4x5 HP5 with 250mm Fujinon f5.6.
Zach, the Redwoods turned out great, if you ask me. I know you had some other very strong images from that trip, so I'm sure you are being overly critical. Exposures a tricky in there and this was well-managed - it came out beautifully. I found it difficult to know how to compose a photo at Redwoods too (as with any forest really) but I like this.
As for Yosemite, even if you're not thrilled with your results at least you got a chance to see it. I lived in San Francisco over six years before I made my first trip and I've kicked myself ever since (especially now that I live in Seattle). Within a year I moved away, and now it's much more of a challenge to get there. It's worth revisiting ;-)

This was taken about three weeks ago. It was my first time out in years. I need to work on using my feet because I feel like I did not get close enough to the gypsum cliff.

Thank you - late afternoons on clear Autumn days are always a treat.
