A chilly, lonely morning on the Olympic Peninsula (Washington state) – spring 2009.
These are worn-down remains of rain forest trees. They toppled into Olympic rivers, which carried them into the Pacific. Then rough seas ripped-off their bark & branches, and storm waves tossed them back ashore here. A rough life! Come to think of it, those sea stacks on the horizon take quite a beating too.
