This was one of the first 4x5 images I ever shot. It was my senior year in high school and, as a testament to my youth and heartiness, I hauled a Calumet monorail in its huge wooden box up to this spot. The beer cans were there but not propped up. I think I was trying to juxtapose the natural beauty with the human imprint. (Yes, I grew up to be a Mark Klett fan!)
