Re: Large Format Landscapes
I took this on a recent trip out to Yellowstone National Park in June. I had planned a different morning shot, but the lake I wanted to photograph was still partially frozen over and the image I wanted was not there. Drove down a few miles to set up on Beartooth Lake. I was astounded at its stillness, not something that happens up here very often, at least not for me. My only complaint about the morning was the lack of any clouds in the sky. So I composed the image as you see here. I wish I had used a graduated density filter (reversed) on the bottom reflection but I am still pleased with the result. Taken with my Ebony 8x10 on Velvia 50.

I love how my first glance at the thumbnail looks so like a GG view.
Well done!

Jim - This is a breathtaking image. Really love the purples popping out on green and the reflection is as perfect as it gets. The image is very balances (to me atleast) and I think you may have actually been better that there were no clouds to add potential noise to the composition.
Really really nice!

This is a cool framing, and yea very still.

I'm glad to see how well the Wollensack Raptar has handled the sun flare in this picture. Great coating, nice pic,
Cheers,
Renato

Did you crop the bed? Or are you talking about the black bar at the top of the image (that's not the bed)?

Look along the right edge of the image. I have to rotate the whole body on my speed graphic to shoot in portrait orientation.

Yes that little lens does a fine job for what it is... it also has heavy cleaning marks and some fungus (which has been cleaned, but left etching) and it still has great flare control, fine contrast, excellent sharpness... I keep telling myself I "need" a better 90, but honestly that little guy hasn't let me down yet. Perhaps I should postpone buying new glass until I learn to do my job properly and start realizing the limitations of the Raptar.
