Thing is, you are not alone. This is the south coast of Iceland more or less on the the main ring road so there are loads of people like you. Tourists, photographers, tour buses and so on...
So it depends on what you are expecting I guess.
To lose the crowds you need to go much further east to the East fjords and beyond.

Thanks, for the explanation. I had a mental picture of a very remote place, with nobody around for several miles/kilometers.
