I don't do golf Jim but I'd go for a round or two there, if only to soak up those mountains...breathtaking place!
If there was a place on earth I'd leave Scotland for it would be Canada!

Thank you,
here is an other capture from that area, Huyana Potosi
This was one of the shots that convinced me to stop using the digital SLR as a meter. Lots of technical issues, but still a memorable backpacking trip. While the SLR indicated that the exposure was OK and the highlights weren't clipping, the film was badly underexposed and the falloff from the 75/8 Super Angulon wasn't helping. The two mediums just don't align very well. I finally feel like I have enough knowledge of the scanner to get something OK out of it.

A couple years ago I took a through hike backpacking trip with some friends. We started out in Yankee Boy Basin, crossed over 13,000ft Blue Lakes Pass and worked our way down the valley, with this area as our goal. On the way, you pass the two upper Blue Lakes, which are just typical alpine lakes. Then suddenly, you reach this point in the trail and get your first glimpse of the jewel toned Lower Blue Lake. The lake has an opaque tone due to rock flour washed in from the glacial remnants above.
We camped up on this perch with a great view of Blue Lake. These clouds built into a solid storm later in the afternoon. In the evening it rained and the lightning started and I seriously questioned our choice of campsite just below treeline.
The following morning, the skies had cleared and we were fortunate enough to witness this sunrise.
