Great thing was that I did not see another person in the park for about two hours from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. The Oaks were covered and some light snow was falling, fog in the valley. It was amazing. I kept wondering "where is everyone" it was kind of surreal. This is on Efke-25 on the 8x10 and is a monochrome carbon transfer print. Images like this are very hard to control especially with all that snow in the foreground. I managed to clear almost all of the pigment and the whites are textured and clean. The image has some nice relief and tonal range. Hard to show on the web as the image looks good in the flesh. More to come from the trip.
Very nice Jim. It's a tough print for carbon. Too bad we can't justify the image with 72 dpi.

This struck me is a very menacing image at first (in a good way!!) -- in some Tolkienesque world where the one big deciduous in the upper right is commanding the others. I love the geometry of the trees from the right and left sides. The light is just right to silhouette the trees against the ground, the contrast is really balanced well overall.

Good heavens, I hadn't noticed the deciduous tree in the background. You're right--it does look like he's supervising his minions! I liked it before having that pointed out; I like it even more now.
