Re: Large Format Landscapes
I'd love to back up a little...and get higher but I was at the limit of tripod, slope and a stack of rocks! The camera was so high I couldn't see the top edge of the ground glass-bottom edge of the photo. Vertical interesting, (shot it), but not as much. For me. Just brush up above. Wish I had a 110. I've told myself several times to take a short ladder back there but haven't.

The Shiprock shadow is pretty well described. First shot at both of them today in the darkroom. iphone images off the sheet of glass over the fixer tray.

The face of the Glacier reminded me of one of my NZ glacier images...

Thanks - it is about my fourth attempt, and the first version I was satisfied with.

Jim - this is the face of a glacier, so I guess that 'liquid rock' is exactly right. The rate of erosion of this particular glacier in the last 50 years has been extraordinary - even in the last 10 years it has receded by some 500 metres. It's a very dynamic landscape, with ice and boulders falling off every few minutes, and landing quite close to me. Here's another one, from as close as I dared to get;

I guess I just don't understand the whole image sharing thing, especially when "Critiques should only be offered if requested by the original poster."
Stone and I talked on the phone for awhile last night, we are all good. I just can't do the whole internet photography love fest thing anymore...I will go back to not giving the "Image Sharing and Lack of Discussion" section a second look.
I agree on that... ;-)
