Film: Kodak Tri-X developed in Agfa Rodinal.

Inspired by seeing Werner Herzog's new documentary 'Cave of Forgotten Dreams' yesterday, I dug this up:

This was taken some years back before a devastating fire went through there.

Nice image! I'd love to go sit in a spot like that for a day and do absolutely nothing. ;)

Thanks. My brother use to man the lookout during fire season for a number of years, so when I lived in Tucson, I would to go up there to escape the heat.

My first post here. I'm just getting into 4x5, and this is one of my first landscapes. Any useful criticism/advice would be appreciated. =)

Hi , Very nice view from your back porch here , My major critism is half of the image is the foreground grasses which are not that interesting , I am sure a short hike will render some more dramatic images. Cheers Gary

Just to prove I could get my unmotivated butt outdoors and make a photograph after five months of crappy midwest weather, here's the non-magical result. I had to post something! At least I remembered how to set up the camera and mix the chemicals...

Shot on 4x5 Fuji Acros with a 110 XL lens.

Maybe my eighth or ninth sheet of 4x5. Still learning the format. Need to do some spotting on this one, but I sure got lucky with light and the fog. Crown Graphic, 135/4.7 Optar. Arista EDU 100 in 1+50 Rodinal.

Yucca and Zion Canyon (Zion National Park).

I just got back from a trip to Zion last week. This was my last photo from that trip, on my way out of town, taken from a small park in Springdale.

Tachihara 4x5, Schneider S.A. 90mm f/8, Ilford FP4+, HC110(B).
Ilford MGIV contact print.

(As an aside I'm interested in trying Pyro for developing FP4, but every time I start reading about it I become more confused by the myriad options, so I've stuck with HC110 for now)
