Really happy with how this turned out, hard to find compositions where 58mm works...

This is truly a fantastic shot, well done!
Which body and lens and film?
-
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Thanks Pro..
4x5 Ektar 100, 58mm XL w/ center filter, Ebony RW45. About ~8 sec exposure, which blurred the midground waters a bit.
Still trying to figure out why some images look more saturated online than in CS. I convert to sRGB before uploading...

Great, thank you very much!
In fact i am finding that exposing correct/proper with color films will make it look nice and superb, i have one roll [120] of color, between shot and another even at same time shooting i see differences in colors, my monitor is calibrated, but i really don't know how to calibrate my scanner to have corrected or better results than what i have, i just shoot 2 sheets of Velvia 100F and both gave me amazing colors without more workflow, i would like to use Ektar but the lab in my area told me they don't process C-41 unless i submit minimum 15 sheets which is too too much atm for me, so the only choices i have are Velvia 50 and 100f and E100G.

Good image! Captured the wet nicely! Looks to be the road out to the mouth of the Mattole River (Lighthouse Road).

Re: Large Format Landscapes
I've been away for some time from this thread. Great updates, some very impressive imagery.
I've made a 6 days mountain trip with a friend here in patagonia. Great days, no people at all, mountains, clean and fresh air, huge backpack. Brought a couple of sheets back. Here is one made with my Toyo 45A, Schneider SA90mm f9 lens and Kodak E100g film (CPL+GND used also).

Here's a recent shot, a very misty evening after work:

That's an absolutely wonderful shot, Nicolas.
Perfect example of what a view camera can do that other imaging techniques cannot.
Thanks.

Thanks, I was quite happy with the composition when I slapped this one on the light table. Good to salvage something from and otherwise unpromising evening!

Looks like a good start; the fp100-45c is an excellent choice of film for testing things out, but is too high contrast to adequately capture the highlights here. The negative has more contrast if you kept it. Next time you're on this route and are confident in the camera's function, B&W or color negative film, especially a B&W developed in a pyro developer, would have the full range of light from deep shadows to detailed highlights.
-
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Riverman, I love both of those. Fantastic.

I did ;) Just didnt get around to process film sheets yet. Want to accumulate few more before plunging into dark room.
I shot this scene on instant, then on film , then on digital sliding back.
I agree about instant being a bit odd with highlights.. Plus i just dont like 3200. I used to "slower" film speeds, and in fact everything else i shoot is rarely above 100, so it was halfhearted to tell the truth.

Thanks for the positive comments on my two images. Both were shot on Provia on a recent trip to Death Valley with Michael Gordon. To anyone interested in exploring DVNP I would heartily recommend one of Michael's private workshop/tours. Tremendous value.

I would sacrifice my best lens for a cibachrome from those images.
