Re: Large Format Landscapes
Richard,
Well, I'm an old timer, too, and I've seen many original prints made by the people you referred to in your post, especially those made by Saint Ansel. If I recall correctly, very many of Ansel's landscape images have no 'hand-of-man' or animals or people in them. Personally, I choose to not have animals, people, or other 'hand-of-man' elements in my photographs unless those elements are integral to what I am trying to express.
I'd like to hear what others have to say in reply to your comment.
I'll definitely continue to 'enjoy the adventure'.

I decided to challenge myself and try doing something that I haven't tried before – photographing landscapes. This is one image of the 12 that I've processed so far that I feel is at least good enough to share. Good landscape images are not easy and I have great respect for people that make incredible landscape images. I hope to get better with practice...

Wow that's fantastic!
Was that light painted? The exposure is excellent!
Re: Large Format Landscapes

Thanks gents. This one is growing on me. I'll be very honest and say that the "darkroom" post process took me quite a few hours before I was happy with it. The image was busy with no real focal point so it took a fair amount of dodging/burning to get it to a place that I was happy with it.
