Last time I was there, i'd gone to photograph the old mill stones and hopefully a sunrise. Got there whilst it was still dark, and just as the sun started coming up the fog rolled in and it started snowing. Hid under a rock overhang for two hours wishing I was better dressed and when it eased up a little I ran back to the car and went to Hathersage for breakfast.

A pretty normal day in the Peak District!

Bruce I know that very feeling, in fact I think I know the exact spot you've cowered under if you mean the well known spot at the south end of the crag. The shot above is about 1-200 yards northwest of there.

You will be needing "assistants" lugging around all that LF gear. A ++ situation!

Did you see that documentary on Weston that's around youtube somewhere.... that's what I am talking about....

This one is from a few days later in the Dolomites. Unfortunately I didn't bring Velvia on our holiday, because I was afraid it might get cooked in the car, so I had to stick with black and white. Which was a shame, because the colors of this lake are brilliant. You are not allowed to leave the path though, so a really strong composition is not really possible.

Not sure where to post this. Elsewhere we were discussing Poco's and I looked at my 4X5 Premo and noticed an image on a plate in a holder. I definitely did not take the image and who knows how old it is. I pulled the DS and there it was. The only plate of 4 with anything resembling something. The image seems set or fixed without processing.

So I shot a pic of it and tortured it in PS.
