An image toward the end of February, 2009.
The approaching spring warmth in late February can be felt in British Columbia, once you cross the Alberta and British Columbia Provincial boundary, compared to Alberta's frostier leeward side of the mountains. It is simply magical.

This is from last Friday. A good 5 hour walk with the 4x5. This was the first time I ever dared shoot a sheet of Velvia without metering. There was too much snow that I didn't want to rely on my old incident meter, especially shooting into the sun. Didn't come out too bad but I think it could have done with perhaps another 1/3 of a stop.
