Preston - that is a beautiful image. What is the straight white line under the mountain on the right? Looks like a road or something but really interesting how it stands out in the picture.
That is the shoreline. I lived there in 1983 and have a host of MF and SF shots of the lake and tufa towers. I went back at the beginning of this year and was flabbergasted at the level of the lake and the condition of the tufa. It was really sad.
Yes, this is a good shot. It is also a good historical perspective. Nice work!

Pali, that line is the far shoreline, as Marty says; basically a slat flat. Due to the perspective, it's appears to be much more narrow than it truly is.
