"It's pretty damn telling where the greater perception of what makes a good photograph is headed when after 1.5 million views, 9,300 posts and 931 pages of "Wow, great capture!" the place can't handle one...single....brutally.....honest.....critique."
Its not that this place can't handle the critique. Its the rude critique by someone who has no credibility and no identity. I've been hanging around here for a while and do not recall a single picture by Kodacrome25. People like this also put a damper on others who are willing to post their photos.
I would have no trouble accepting critique from Nana, Austin Grange, Vaughn, or others who post their work.
Anyway just my 2 cents.
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Gary,
He has posted images and his resume, you missed it and if it's important then you should do a search.

Some people don't need to post their images because everyone knows (or should) who they are... Lol

Even with credibility and identity - and honesty - courtesy is a requirement here.

Even if the great Nicéphore Niépce (the inventor of photography) posted here but was rude... we'd ban him.

Re: Large Format Landscapes
Spammers aside, forum members are banned only after a long series of offensive postings, warnings from and deliberation among the moderators.
Because most people readily grasp the concept of courtesy, banning happens very rarely here.

Thanks, Vaughn. I went to this place for 3 days shooting, during spring. Cold, but beautiful...

Thanks Stone. The fog dissipated right after I made the photo-for once my timing was good! I'm going to try and remember that for the next time a picture slips away and I curse my bad luck.

Thank you Marty. Like the other photo of the summit, the cloud was a nice piece of luck. Come to think of it, everything was falling into place that day! I guess if you go out enough, it's bound to happen eventually. :-)
